Ciğer taplaması is a dish made by slicing lamb liver thinly, seasoning it with spices, and cooking it on a sac (a type of griddle). Additionally, walnut sausage and örük tatlısı (a type of dessert) are important parts of Bitlis cuisine.

Ahlat Seljuk Culture and Arts Festival, held every August, is a significant event celebrating the region's historical richness.
